Reflections and future plans

Hello everyone, merry late Christmas, and thank you for having played un petit noël! The idea for the game came after working on Frosty Cabin; getting to see the game dev process up-close inspired even me, a complete newbie to the scene, to try to complete a project! So here it is!

Of course, I couldn't quite learn an entire engine or programming language in a matter of days, so I went with RPG Maker 2003 to complete my first project. Unfortunately, that came with another whole set of troubles, namely: sprites formats, how to use variables, even what image formats the software supports! As such, I could only shoddily put a sprite for the player character, while using default assets for music and the environment (yes, the "anvil" and "tree" were a byproduct of spritesheets limitations! Sorry for that! *laughs*)
Due to all these small problems and lack of personal time, it didn't quite came out how I wanted it to. Putting that aside, I'm just glad I could actually finish a project! Procrastination: beaten!

When it comes to future plans, l want to update all the assets used and clean up the writing and art a bit. That said, I do not want it to completely overhaul the game itself—it is still meant to be a very short, sweet game. However, I might port it to an engine that actually supports HTML5 exporting so there won't be a need for a download on the end user's part. Might even try to compose something by myself in terms of soundtrack? Might consider it, but I don't want to promise anything.

Please look forward to the improved un petit noël! I'd be glad if you could give it a second chance when it comes out. :)
